WebGrapes of Wrath is a somber look at the plight of average Americans trying their hardest to reach the American dream, only to be betrayed by the system they believed in. Even though it is set almost 100 years ago, the tale seems timeless. So many parallels to the modern world. Steinbeck blew me away.
